چکیده

مجموعه سنگ‌های اولترامافیک مشهد به سن چینه‌شناسی پرمین - تریاس در شمال خاور کوه‌های بینالود و در نزدیکی شهر مشهد قرار گرفته است. واحدهای سنگی این منطقه شامل سنگ‌های اولترامافیک و  مافیک، سنگ‌های رسی و کربناته دگرگون شده، گرانیتویید و فیلیت‌های مشهد با راستای عمومی شمال باختر ـ جنوب خاور می‌باشد. پریدوتیت‌های سرپانتینی شده، بیشترین سنگ‌های اولترامافیک در منطقه مورد مطالعه را تشکیل می‌دهند. کانی‌های تشکیل دهنده سنگ‌های اولترامافیک این منطقه شامل الیوین، ارتوپیروکسن، کلینوپیروکسن، آمفیبول قهوه‌ای و کانی‌های تیره به عنوان کانی‌های باقیمانده از سنگ اولیه و کانی‌های گروه سرپانتین (لیزاردیت و آنتیگوریت)، ترمولیت- اکتینولیت، کلریت، مقادیر اندکی تالک و کانی‌های کربناتی به عنوان کانی‌های تشکیل شده بعدی  هستند. به‌رغم نبود سنگ‌های دگرگونی فشار بالا- دما پایین که معرف پدیده فرورانش هستند، شیمی عناصر اصلی، کمیاب و فرعی سرپانتینیت‌های مشهد، ویژگی‌های سرپانتینیت‌های فرورانده شده را نشان می‌دهند و منشأ پریدوتیت اولیه تشکیل دهنده آنها گوشته تهی نشده‌ای است که به صورت لرزولیت و یا هارزبورژیت فقیر ازالیوین می‌باشد. پروتولیت این سنگ ها قبل از سرپانتینی شدن تحت تأثیر مذاب حاصل از فرورانش قرار گرفته و متاسوماتیزه و بارور شده است.
